“The drone attack by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic should be assessed as the ingratitude and hypocrisy of the mullah regime.”
These views were expressed by Vugar Bayramov, a member of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly), in a statement to the Operative Information Center-OMM:
“At the same time, the targeting of civilian infrastructure is an example of cowardice and helplessness.”
The MP noted that the attack flagrantly violates the norms and principles of international law and will lead to increased tensions in the region.

He added that the opposing side must provide an immediate explanation in a short period and take the necessary steps to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
“The attack on civilian infrastructure, including a school building, is unequivocally an act of terror. The mullah regime in Iran has always been hostile toward Azerbaijanis, deprived them of their rights, and kept our compatriots living there under constant pressure. Azerbaijan reserves the right to respond to this hypocritical attack, and the opposing side will definitely receive its response,” Vugar Bayramov emphasized.
The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an exclave of Azerbaijan, shares a significant border with Iran. Relations between Baku and Tehran have faced periods of heightened tension, often linked to regional security dynamics and Iran's military activities near the Azerbaijani border. This latest incident involving a strike on civilian targets is viewed by experts as a serious escalation that threatens regional stability and violates the sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
