European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Azerbaijan on July 1 for a working visit.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a guard of honor was lined up at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, where the flags of Azerbaijan and the European Union were displayed, in honor of the guest.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was welcomed at the airport by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, and other officials.

This visit underscores the deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, particularly in the energy and economic sectors. Azerbaijan has become a key strategic partner for the EU, notably in ensuring energy security through the Southern Gas Corridor, which plays a vital role in diversifying Europe's energy supplies.
