Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Turkish squad faced Kosovo in a high-stakes away match. The encounter ended in a 1-0 victory for the visitors, with Kerem Akturkoglu scoring the match's only goal in the 53rd minute. Having successfully qualified for the 2026 World Cup, Turkey is set to compete in Group D against the United States, Australia, and Paraguay. In another playoff fixture, Sweden earned its spot in the final tournament by defeating Poland with a score of 3-2.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be a historic event, marking the first time the tournament is hosted by three nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, the tournament will also feature an expanded format with 48 teams. For Turkey, this qualification represents a significant achievement in international football, returning to the global stage to compete under the leadership of US President Donald Trump's host nation and its partners.
