US President Donald Trump has asserted that the United States maintains full strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint for global energy supplies.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, President Trump emphasized that Washington has secured total oversight of the strait. He characterized the US naval blockade as a "steel wall," asserting that Iran is unable to counter these measures. "Our naval blockade is being called a 'steel wall' by everyone, and there is nothing Iran can do about it. Iran only talks, it does not act," President Trump stated.

In response, Iranian officials have indicated that any discussion regarding the reopening of the strait is contingent upon the United States paying reparations to Iran. Reports suggest that since the commencement of US and Israeli operations against Iran in February, Tehran has effectively kept the Strait of Hormuz closed, citing the threat of military intervention.

Against this backdrop, diplomatic efforts are reportedly underway between Iran and Oman to establish a mechanism for reopening the strait under their joint supervision. Meanwhile, negotiations aimed at halting the conflict with the United States have reportedly reached an impasse.

The Strait of Hormuz is widely recognized as one of the world's most vital maritime routes for energy transit. Any military or political instability in the region poses significant risks to global oil and gas markets, potentially impacting energy prices and supply chains worldwide.
