The detention period for businessman Adnan Ahmadzada, who is being investigated as part of a criminal case initiated by the State Security Service (SSS), has been extended. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Sabail District Court reviewed the motion submitted by the investigative authority regarding the preventive measure.
During the court proceedings, the motion was granted, and the period of Adnan Ahmadzada's arrest was extended for another 2 months. Ahmadzada was initially detained by State Security Service officers in September last year. He faces serious charges involving sabotage against economic security and embezzlement on an especially large scale.
In Azerbaijan, the State Security Service is responsible for protecting the country's constitutional order and economic interests against internal and external threats. Cases involving economic sabotage and large-scale misappropriation of funds are treated with high priority to ensure the financial stability and transparency of the national economy. The Sabail District Court serves as a key judicial body in the capital, often handling high-profile preliminary hearings and motions related to state-level investigations.
