Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, has issued a statement regarding the significant oil pollution observed along the shores of Qeshm Island.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Gharibabadi stated that the deterioration of the environmental situation in the region is not coincidental, attributing it directly to the military activities of foreign forces in the area.

In comments provided to the IRNA news agency, the Iranian official emphasized that ongoing military interventions in the region are causing severe damage to the marine ecosystem. According to Gharibabadi, the oil spill recorded on the coast of Qeshm Island is a direct consequence of these military operations.

Tehran maintains that such incidents negatively impact not only the environment but also the broader security landscape of the region. Qeshm Island, located in the Strait of Hormuz, is a strategically vital area for international shipping and energy transit, making environmental incidents there a matter of significant international concern.
