Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed his gratitude to the people and government of Iraq for their support of the Islamic Republic during the conflict with the United States and Israel.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the president shared his remarks on the X social media platform. Pezeshkian emphasized the depth of the relationship between the two neighboring nations during the current geopolitical tensions.
"The Muslim people of Iraq courageously supported Iran in this unjust war. This resistance does not stem from geographical constraints, but from a shared history, identity, and religious values," the Iranian leader wrote in his post.
The statement highlights the strengthening ties between Tehran and Baghdad, which have seen increased diplomatic and security cooperation in recent years. Iraq remains a critical strategic partner for Iran, serving as a vital economic corridor and a key player in regional security dynamics.
