Peskov: Rusiyanın nüvə layihələri ABŞ-dən daha yaxşıdır

Russia possesses significantly greater expertise in the nuclear energy sector compared to the United States, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, Peskov made these remarks during a press briefing while addressing potential cooperation between Armenia and Washington on nuclear projects. He emphasized that Armenia's existing nuclear infrastructure is based on Soviet and Russian designs, which provides a natural advantage for continued partnership with Moscow.

"Regarding cooperation between Armenia and the United States in the nuclear energy sector, there are old Soviet installations there, and of course, they have Soviet and Russian designs. In this field, Russia undoubtedly has greater experience and greater competitiveness," the Kremlin spokesperson stated. He further noted that as one of the world's most advanced nations in nuclear technology, Russia is prepared to withstand international competition and meet the demands of its partners.

Peskov underscored that Russia is capable of providing "higher quality products over many years for less investment." This statement comes amid increasing discussions regarding the diversification of energy sources in the South Caucasus. Historically, the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia has relied heavily on Russian technology and fuel supplies, serving as a critical component of the region's energy security framework. Russia's state atomic energy corporation, Rosatom, currently maintains a leading position in the global market for the construction of nuclear power plants abroad.
