Azərbaycanın daxili borcu açıqlandı

Azerbaijan's internal state debt reached 16,492.9 million manats as of April 1, according to the latest official data. Of the total amount, 7,695.5 million manats consisted of government securities in circulation, while 8,797.4 million manats were state-guaranteed obligations undertaken by the government.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports this citing the Ministry of Finance. According to the ministry, 54.4% of the government securities had a maturity of 2 to 3 years, while 45.6% were for 5 years or more. The Average Time to Maturity (ATM) for government bonds in circulation stood at 3.6 years, with the increase in ATM attributed to the expiration of short-term government bonds during the first quarter of the year.

The management of internal debt remains a key component of Azerbaijan's fiscal policy, aimed at supporting the domestic financial market and ensuring long-term economic stability. By prioritizing longer-term securities, the government seeks to reduce liquidity risks and create a more sustainable debt profile. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to maintain a low debt-to-GDP ratio while financing strategic national projects and infrastructure development across Azerbaijan.
