The transfer ban imposed on Neftchi FC has been officially lifted, allowing the Baku-based club to register new players for the upcoming season.
Asaf Zeynallı, the press secretary for the "whites-and-blacks," confirmed the development to Report, as cited by Operative Information Center-OMM. He stated that all necessary procedures regarding the removal of the restriction have been completed and the club no longer holds any outstanding debt obligations.
"The transfer ban has already been lifted. We have no remaining debt obligations," Zeynallı noted, emphasizing that the capital representative is now free to pursue its recruitment strategy.
The restriction was previously imposed by FIFA due to payment issues which the club attributed to technical delays. Neftchi FC, one of Azerbaijan's most successful and historic football clubs, has been a dominant force in the Azerbaijan Premier League since its inception. Based in Baku, the club has a significant following and frequently represents Azerbaijan in European competitions, making the resolution of this legal hurdle critical for its competitive standing and future development.
