Neftchi Professional Football Club has officially extended its contract with head coach Yuriy Vernydub.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the club announced the decision following a formal signing ceremony.
The agreement was finalized in the presence of Neftchi's Supervisory Board Chairman Hafiz Zeynalov and Chief Executive Officer Cenk Sumer. Under the terms of the new deal, the Ukrainian specialist will remain at the helm of the Baku-based team until the summer of 2028.
This extension signals the club's commitment to long-term stability and strategic development under Vernydub's leadership. Neftchi, one of the most historic and successful clubs in Azerbaijan, has been actively working to strengthen its squad and coaching staff to compete at a higher level in both domestic and international tournaments. The decision to retain Vernydub follows a period of restructuring within the club's management, aimed at revitalizing the team's performance in the Azerbaijan Premier League.
