Museums across Azerbaijan have significantly expanded their collections, with the total number of exhibits held in primary funds reaching 1,137,883.

According to a report provided by the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", this data was highlighted in the "Cultural Heritage Review" for the first half of 2026.

The report emphasizes that substantial progress has been achieved in both the enrichment of museum funds and the expansion of digital accounting for cultural assets. During the reporting period, the collections were augmented with 3,893 new items, while the number of museum exhibits registered in the Unified Cultural Registry reached 29,551.

The preservation of cultural heritage remains a strategic priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan. By digitizing these collections, the state aims to ensure the long-term protection of historical artifacts while making them more accessible to both local researchers and international visitors. This ongoing initiative reflects broader efforts to modernize the country's cultural infrastructure and integrate it into global digital heritage networks.
