Manchester City, the reigning English Premier League champion, continues its transfer efforts to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, renowned football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has reported that the “Citizens” are closely monitoring Chelsea's right-back, Malo Gusto. The club's management and coaching staff reportedly hold the French defender's playing style in high regard. Notably, Gusto's previous working experience with head coach Enzo Maresca is considered a key factor in this interest.

It has been clarified that no official negotiations have taken place between the parties, and Manchester City has not yet submitted a formal offer for the player.

The transfer process is reportedly linked to other potential squad movements, and the future decisions of other players could influence Gusto's situation. Currently, the 23-year-old defender has a market value of 35 million euros according to the Transfermarkt portal, with his existing contract at Chelsea running until the summer of 2030.

Manchester City, managed by Pep Guardiola, is widely recognized as one of the most successful clubs in modern football history. The club has consistently utilized the transfer market to maintain its competitive edge in both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, often targeting versatile defenders to fit their tactical system.
