The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced a large-scale military operation against Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, neutralizing more than 1,000 military targets.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that according to the IDF, Israeli troops destroyed approximately 1,000 military sites used by the group across the region.
The statement noted that the destroyed targets included booby-trapped buildings and strategic weapon warehouses. The Israeli military asserted that these facilities were being utilized to prepare and execute attack plans against IDF forces. Additionally, a significant cache of weaponry was seized during the operation, including machine guns, Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, mines, pistols, anti-tank missiles, RPG shells, and mortar rounds.
The escalation in southern Lebanon follows a period of intensified cross-border hostilities. Hezbollah, which maintains a robust military presence in the area, has frequently engaged in skirmishes with Israeli forces. This latest operation is viewed as a strategic effort to dismantle the group's logistical networks and ensure security along the border, amid ongoing regional tensions in the Middle East.
