US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran's oil infrastructure faces the risk of severe and potentially irreversible damage due to declining production levels.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the US President emphasized the technical volatility of the energy sector during his statement. "A problem has arisen in Iran because the situation is extremely explosive in many ways. You understand, when oil production stops, in almost 100% of cases, it literally causes an explosion and destroys everything around. And that oil can never be fully recovered. In other words, 30–40% could be restored, but it will never be the same as it is now. If this occurs, it will cause massive damage to the country's oil system," President Trump stated.
Iran's oil industry, a cornerstone of its economy, has faced significant challenges in recent years due to aging infrastructure and the impact of international restrictions. Technical experts often note that maintaining pressure in oil fields is crucial; a total shutdown or significant decrease in output can lead to reservoir damage, making future extraction significantly more difficult and costly. This warning comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing fluctuations in the global energy market.
