Delegations from 100 countries to attend Iran's Supreme Leader funeral

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released details regarding the upcoming funeral and farewell ceremony for the late Supreme Leader. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Esmail Baghaei, stated in an interview with IRIB that the farewell and burial ceremony for the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, is a significant event not only for Iran but for the entire region and the Muslim world.

Reports indicate that high-ranking officials, political figures, and various delegations from approximately 100 countries are expected to attend the ceremony. The farewell proceedings are scheduled to commence on Friday at 08:00 and conclude at 12:00. A special program for foreign representatives has been arranged for the 13:30–14:00 time slot.

The death of a Supreme Leader in Iran marks a pivotal moment in the country's political history, given the centralized nature of the Iranian governance system. The Supreme Leader holds ultimate authority over the state's political, religious, and military affairs. Such international gatherings at the highest level reflect the geopolitical importance of Iran within the Middle East and its complex diplomatic relations with global powers.
