Police in Iran's southwestern Fars province have identified and detained an individual accused of cooperating with "hostile media" in the Sarvestan region.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Iranian law enforcement officials confirmed the arrest following a targeted security operation. Authorities stated that the suspect is currently under investigation for allegedly sharing information with foreign media organizations deemed adversarial by the state.

Iran frequently targets individuals accused of collaborating with foreign-based Persian-language news outlets, often labeling such organizations as "hostile" or "terrorist" entities. These arrests typically occur under broad national security laws, which international observers note are often used to monitor communications with external media platforms. The Fars province, where the arrest took place, has been the site of various security measures aimed at curbing the flow of information to outlets operating outside the country's jurisdiction.
