A senior member of the Iranian parliament has stated that the country's stockpiles of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are sufficient to sustain a "multi-year war."

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the statement was originally published by the Tasnim News Agency. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Vice Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, emphasized that the nation's military readiness remains high despite regional tensions.

According to Boroujerdi, Iran has initiated negotiations with the United States following instructions from the Supreme Leader. He noted that Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is managing this process as a "valuable experience," expressing hope that the discussions will yield results. Boroujerdi stressed that "the negotiating table is not a place for concessions or humiliation," asserting that Iran's principled positions will remain unchanged. Meanwhile, reports from some sources suggest that Ghalibaf has allegedly resigned from his role as head of the negotiation team due to internal disagreements.

The disclosure regarding Iran's long-term military capabilities comes amid a complex geopolitical landscape in the Middle East. Under the administration of US President Donald Trump, who assumed office in January 2025, Washington has maintained a policy of maximum pressure while keeping diplomatic channels open for potential strategic shifts. Iran's emphasis on its missile and drone arsenal serves as a deterrent signal to international actors, highlighting the strategic importance of its domestic defense industry in the face of ongoing economic sanctions and regional rivalries.
