Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been honored with the newly established "Khoja Ahmed Yasawi" Order by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during an official ceremony in Astana.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the presentation took place within the framework of the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two nations. President Tokayev emphasized that the award recognizes President Erdogan's significant contributions to strengthening bilateral cooperation and his active role in developing socio-political, social, and cultural-humanitarian ties between the two Turkic states.

Addressing the ceremony, President Erdogan expressed his deep gratitude for being the first recipient of the prestigious order named after the great Sufi poet and philosopher Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. "I view and accept this order as a high compliment to the Republic of Türkiye and our nation. I thank my dear brother for his leadership in bringing our brotherhood to its current level. May the Almighty make our brotherhood and affection eternal," the Turkish leader stated.

The "Khoja Ahmed Yasawi" Order was officially established by President Tokayev on April 10, 2024, to honor individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the unity of the Turkic world and the development of international relations. The award is named after the 12th-century Turkic poet and mystic whose teachings played a pivotal role in the spiritual history of the region, with his mausoleum in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, serving as a major pilgrimage site and a symbol of shared Turkic heritage.

The High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council serves as a key mechanism for deepening the partnership between Ankara and Astana. In recent years, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan have significantly increased collaboration within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), focusing on the Middle Corridor trade route and regional security. This latest diplomatic gesture underscores the growing integration and symbolic unity among the Turkic nations in the modern geopolitical landscape.
