According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the South Korean national team faced the Czech Republic in the group's second match, securing a 2-1 victory.
All three goals in the match were scored in the second half. In the 59th minute, Czech defender Ladislav Krejčí opened the scoring. South Korea equalized in the 67th minute through Hwang In-beom. Ten minutes later, the Czechs had a potential second goal disallowed due to an offside decision. The decisive moment came in the 80th minute when Oh Hyeon-gyu, the forward for the Turkish club Beşiktaş, scored to seal a hard-fought win for South Korea.
In the group's earlier match, co-hosts Mexico defeated South Africa 2-0. Following these results, Mexico leads Group A with 3 points, followed by South Korea (3 points), the Czech Republic (0 points), and South Africa (0 points).
