Water supply will be temporarily suspended in parts of the Binagadi district of Baku, as well as in the city of Sumgait and the Absheron district, starting from the morning of May 14. The interruption in service is expected to continue until the afternoon of May 16.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities under the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan stated that the suspension is due to essential technical maintenance. The works involve the replacement of a damaged section of the main water pipeline and the installation of new valves to ensure more efficient and operative management of the water supply system.
The State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan is currently overseeing extensive infrastructure modernization projects across the country to improve the reliability of utility services. These maintenance efforts in the Absheron Peninsula are part of a broader strategy to minimize water loss and upgrade the aging pipeline network. Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and store sufficient water for the duration of the scheduled works.
