Azerbaijan and Ecuador have officially abolished visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev has signed a law approving the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador on the exemption of diplomatic, official, and service passport holders from visa requirements."

The agreement was originally signed on May 4 in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. This diplomatic development is part of Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to expand its international cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations with Latin American nations, facilitating easier movement for government officials and diplomatic personnel between the two countries.
