US forces have conducted a strike on the building of its former diplomatic mission in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Iran's Mehr News Agency, that the strike caused damage not only to the former diplomatic facility but also to nearby commercial properties. According to the report, there is currently no information regarding casualties resulting from the strike.

The military action comes amid a significant escalation in the region following the launch of a joint operation by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28. In response, Iran launched missiles toward Israeli territory and targeted US military bases located in Persian Gulf countries. On the same day, it was reported that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the US and Israeli strikes. In light of the volatile security situation, several countries in the Middle East have temporarily closed their airspace.

Under the leadership of US President Donald Trump, the United States has intensified its strategic operations in the Middle East to address security threats and regional instability. The former US embassy in Tehran has remained a potent symbol of the fractured relations between the two nations since the 1979 hostage crisis. This latest development marks a critical turning point in the ongoing geopolitical confrontation, drawing international attention to the shifting power dynamics in the region and the potential for further large-scale conflict.
