Three individuals have been arrested in Shirvan on charges of stealing electrical wiring valued at 34,000 manats.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the regional press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
According to the official report, law enforcement officers identified and detained Shirvan residents Mubariz Mutallimov, Tural Yusifov, and Tacir Aliyev, who were suspected of targeting a facility within the city. The suspects allegedly dismantled and stole copper wiring worth 34,000 manats, subsequently selling the materials to local scrap metal collection points.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. By court order, all three suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention while the investigation continues.
Theft of critical infrastructure, particularly electrical cabling, poses significant risks to public safety and utility services. Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies frequently conduct operations to combat such crimes, which disrupt essential services and cause substantial economic damage to both public and private entities.
