The government of Kuwait has established a special fund totaling 100 million US dollars to ensure the rapid remediation of damages caused by various emergency situations. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement regarding the initiative.
The primary objective behind the creation of this fund is to establish a mechanism that facilitates the immediate allocation of state resources for the restoration of strategically significant infrastructure damaged by military operations or other unforeseen events. Officials noted that this decision was informed by the experience gained while addressing the aftermath of recent strikes.
During that period, Kuwaiti authorities were required to implement urgent measures to repair damage sustained by critical infrastructure facilities. In early June, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense reported that Iran had launched 13 ballistic missiles and 17 strike-type unmanned aerial vehicles toward the country. Earlier this spring, Kuwaiti officials also reported that Iran had conducted strikes on Kuwaiti territory in response to US operations against the Islamic Republic.
Kuwait, a key strategic partner in the Gulf region, frequently emphasizes the importance of maintaining national resilience against regional security threats. The establishment of this emergency fund reflects the nation's proactive approach to infrastructure security and disaster management in an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment.
