A severe fire has erupted at a major power plant and desalination facility in Kuwait following reported strikes, leading to a widespread energy crisis in the country.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from "The Times of Israel," Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy confirmed the incident. The ministry stated that the strikes resulted in the emergency shutdown of several power generation units at the facility.

Emergency response teams are currently working to localize the fire and initiate necessary repair and restoration efforts. At this time, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries resulting from the incident.

Kuwait, a nation heavily reliant on its energy infrastructure for both electricity and water desalination, faces significant logistical challenges following such disruptions. Power plants in the region are critical assets, and their operational status is vital for maintaining the country's utility grid, particularly during periods of high demand.
