The government of Azerbaijan has officially established the state procurement price for food wheat, a move aimed at bolstering the nation's agricultural sector and food security.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decree to formalize these measures.
Under the new decree, the state procurement price for one ton of locally produced food wheat, which meets the quality requirements set by the State Standard AZS 888:2025, has been set at 400 manats for the year 2026. This initiative is designed to increase the country's self-sufficiency in food wheat, stimulate the activities of local producers, and provide necessary state support to the agricultural sector.
The decree enters into force immediately upon signing.
This decision is part of a broader strategic effort by the Azerbaijani government to reduce reliance on food imports and strengthen domestic food production capabilities. By setting guaranteed procurement prices, the state aims to provide financial predictability for farmers, encouraging them to expand cultivation areas and improve crop quality in line with national standards.
