Armenia may establish a partnership with Azerbaijan, including in the field of electricity export and import, according to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media, the Prime Minister addressed these developments during a recent briefing.
Pashinyan confirmed that Azerbaijani specialists visited Armenia in September 2025 and January 2026. These visits focused on technical discussions regarding power transmission lines, railway infrastructure, and pipeline connectivity. "We have stated previously that we are working on power transmission lines, pipelines, cables, and railways, and bilateral work is being conducted on these issues," Pashinyan noted.
These discussions are part of the broader normalization process between the two nations, which aims to resolve long-standing territorial disputes and restore regional connectivity. The potential for energy cooperation marks a significant step in exploring economic interdependence following the cessation of hostilities and the subsequent efforts to finalize a peace treaty.
It is worth noting that President Ilham Aliyev, in an interview with the AzTV state television channel on August 11, stated that Azerbaijani energy experts had conducted analyses within Armenian territory to determine the precise locations for the installation of electricity pylons.
