Elnur Ikhtiyar oglu Sultanov has been recalled from his position as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Latvia.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect.
Under a separate decree signed by the head of state, Sultanov has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Sweden. Furthermore, President Ilham Aliyev has appointed Narmina Elsevar gizi Mustafayeva as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Latvia.
Diplomatic rotations of this nature are standard practice within the Azerbaijani Foreign Service, aimed at refreshing diplomatic representation and strengthening bilateral ties with partner nations. These appointments reflect Azerbaijan's ongoing commitment to deepening political and economic cooperation with both Sweden and Latvia, key partners within the European and Nordic regions.
